Subject: 're-glue' heatsink to cpy

I took apart an old desktop Dell to clean it. The large aluminum heatsink separated from the cpu in the process. The old dried thermal compound residue is still on both pieces. Can I just screw the heat sink housing back into place or should I try Radio Shack for compound. If so, is there a special brand or method? |
