I am running a pair of EVGA Nvidia 9500\'s in SLI configuration. I was having trouble with low frame rates (like 5) on video intensive games such as Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3. While troubleshooting and subsequent research I discovered that my #2 card was running at 102 degrees C. Way too hot. I opened the case and put my desk fan in the case right on the cards. This dropped the temerature to about 50. After the monitor went to sleep for 8 hours and upon waking this morning the temp of card 2 was still 92 (with desk fan off). Card #1 wasn\'t far behind at 75. I am now wondering about video card coolers. Do they work and what would be a recommended solution. I have 4 case fans already.

Yes

OK

Confused - is this an idle temperature? [still \'\'Way too hot\'\' - irrespective]

IMHO there is no \'\'penny\'\' solution to .. a pair of EVGA Nvidia 9500\\\'s in SLI configuration & video intensive games.

You need lots of cold air in & a very good hot air out system (of the room?)

I\'m currently using an intake 100mm flexi pipe hanging out of the (open) window pointing directly at my case fan via an air filter - the open window also dumps out the hot air. Cheap, simple solution?
