Subject: Does the Mobo control the volts to CPU fan?

I have a socket 478 P4. The CPU fan and the case fans have both quit. I temporarily have the CPU fan connected to the chip fan connection on the Mobo. My question is, do I have a Mobo problem or a possible BIOS glitch. Both fans will run on the chip conn. And the PC runs fine with the CPU fan running and side cover off. Should I just build two DIY fan controls and be done with it, I really liked the way the PC used to control the fans. Any input greatly appreciated. |
